The best part of what we do is that we get to go ‘behind the scenes’ for every client business. We get to delve into every aspect of their business strategy. We get to see what elements of their strategy ultimately lead to their success, or their failure. What’s even more interesting is that despite the size of the business, the mistakes made are often the same. That’s partly because the same principles of branding apply to every business, no matter what the size.

In relation to branding, the most common mistake that new businesses continually make is that they haven’t effectively:

  1. Pinpointed how they’re different, or
  2. Communicated their point of difference.

Whenever there’s a new business or brand, the first question potential customers will ask is “how are they different?”, not “how are they the same?”.

The “what’s different” will get you noticed. So be sure to identify “what’s different” in your value proposition, and then communicate it, over and over and over again.

As long as you’re ‘different’ in a good way, it will give you a great platform from which you can build your success.
